Vaccinated and Free Videos

Video resources were developed and produced by Florida Self-Advocates Network’D to share the thoughts of statewide self-advocates on topics related to COVID-19 and vaccination. The topics discussed range from vaccine hesitancy or not being sure about the vaccine, to accepting COVID-19 as a part of a “new normal”.  All feature the first-hand experiences of people with disabilities, and are designed to encourage those in the disability community to consider vaccination.

#VaccinatedandFree Campaign Kicks Off Flyer

FL SAND will kick off its #VaccinatedandFree public information campaign this month in an effort to encourage COVID-19 vaccination and booster shots among people with disabilities in Florida.

The campaign will include videos from self-advocates who have gotten the COVID-19 vaccine, interactive social media posts, and a conference call Q & A with self-advocate leaders in the state.

All of the messages in the campaign will be stamped with the #VaccinatedandFree hashtag and theme. This theme, tries to explain that being vaccinated against COVID-19 will help people to begin getting back to the normal things in life they’ve missed doing. In other words, to be free again.

Members of FL SAND came up with the creative theme and some volunteered to share their stories in featured videos. Self-advocates in Florida will be encouraged to share their similar stories in social media posts.

Florida Self-Advocates Network’D, or FL SAND, received a grant from national self-advocacy organization, Self-Advocates Becoming Empowered (SABE), to create this statewide campaign.
